As we know, it can work to our advantage when it comes to selling used bikes due to demand. I've just sold my Specialized Secteur Sport. Owned it since new, it was 9 years old and had covered about 8000 miles. Cost me £470, sold for £300! So that is £170 depreciation, or 36% of it's value, or 2.1 pence per mile (ignoring running costs, which weren't much). Not bad in 9 years
