Well about 50 yards further up to the right is a gated entrance to a big old house that as far as i am aware are flats now so it could be into that property's rear gardens but not really sure

What was meant to go behind the hatch? They are inserted into older walls so I am guessing they are late 1800s / early 1900s.

Absolutely no idea they looked to be same material as the walls apart from one which behind the wood was open the other side .
What they were for I have no idea at all on one side of the same street about 100+yards apart on different walls and houses in between
