Bike carriers for inside a van ?

Or do you just strap it to something solid ?

Yakima makes a device called the Blockhead, that you take the wheel out and place the front forks in. It attaches to the floor.

Or just lie the bike down on its non-drive side, with old cushions around it to stop it shifting?

When I used to have a Bedford Rascal, & MTB raced (many, many years ago), I used to have a wooden frame in the back that slotted over the wheel-arches, to keep it located.
There were 2 'hoops' for the wheels, & bungee cord over the saddle kept it in place

I like the wheel arch idea as the floor is not always errrrrrrrr visable

I use bungees and ratchet straps without any problems. You can stand a bike up and fix it in place easily.
