Bike tagging schemes by London Police

Few months ago, at at least 3 different occasions I walked by Police security tagging bikes for free. I did not have a bike to tag then. Now, however, I do but guess what - you can't find it when you need it!

Does anyone know if and where in London could I register/tag my bike with the police for free?

I'm pretty sure you can get it done at any station.

Im not a Londoner, but I got mine done at a local station for a couple of quid (BikeRegister charge £10 for the same kit). Also bought a "SelectaDNA" pack (£12) which contains 1000's of microdots and UV paint to help identify wheels, pannier racks, lights etc. I also used this on my TV and laptop so they could hopefully be returned to me if the worst happened.

They were in Cavendish Square (behind John Lewis Oxford St) yesterday... not sure about today though.

I asked at my local station and they said they don't do it anymore.

Well, I know they are doing it today at Kentish Town, but I'm too lazy today to go that far.
