Fair enough. Wouldn't you rather just get a new one off the insurance?
No insurance in force for contents at the time (yup, I know, stupid, stupid) All up together now, but it won't help me replace the bike. It is a long story, but I dropped the contents, and got caught.

I'll have to save up again for another bike, but it won't help me now. I put a couple of thousand miles on that bike when I had it, but the guy I sold it too had a clipless moment and he stopped riding it. It had a small graze on one of the hoods, but otherwise spankingly clean, and I was absolutely over the moon to get it back. I realised I made a mistake selling it after about a week, and hassled the hell out of him everytime I saw him to let me buy it back off him. He finally relented when he realised I had the Fairfax.

No need to apologise, no offence taken. I think this one says S/M on it. 54 would be the size I buy in a Specialized bike say.
It is only frame and forks but if it were of use to you let me know and we could sort something out.

I had a bit of fun and games getting the sizing right for that and it fitted me like a glove. I'm fairly long in the body and short in the leg so need a larger frame (I do recall saying I was 5'2" on here once in jest which went down well with the old guard )
Giant also did the compact frames as well after that model. Do you know exactly what the frame is off as IIRC, it all got a bit mixed up the following year.

Ah, thanks for going to the effort Adrian :becool:. I really need a medium to large frame. My OCR1 was a 54" frame which puts it on the larger side of medium for that year. I'm short in the leg, but long in the body so need that extra frame size realistically. I'll make good again, but it will just take a bit longer as I've got a few other irons in the fire.
The old hard-tail clunker I've got also is realistically too small for me as well to cover any distance. I bought it as a stop gap about 10 years ago to get back in to cycling, but recognised after getting sized for the Giant how important it is to get the setup right.

If you take a walk through Hesters Way, you can smell the scent of Ganja in the air really strongly MrP. I think a lot of bike theft in the town is being done to pay for that which the giro doesn't stretch to.

Hesters Way in Cheltenham? I know someone who lives in that area, so I will sometimes cycle there - Always very hesitant about leaving my bikes there - He thinks I'm mad when I ask to keep it indoors!

Sorry to hear about your bike.

Thanks for the sentement

I absolutely don't blame you for being cautious. There are so many young people out of work with no prospects there, that all they seem to want to do is pinch and fence anything off they possibly can, and get hammered on cheap booze or drugs.
Chelt seems to be going through a bit of a crime wave ATM, and nice bicycles are top of the list along with Laptops and big TV's

How odd. Idealy bikes should be indoors whenever they're not being ridden. If not to protect against theft then to keep the weather off them. I shudder when I learn of people who leave their bikes out in the elements.

When I say indoors, I mean inside the house rather than inside the unlocked sheds he has, as there is no garage (where I would normally keep my bikes.)

I say "go to their houses now and you will catch them".......they say (and this is absolutely true)........" can't do it....our shift finishes in 10 minutes, we don't get overtime-you will have to wait for the next shift:banghead:
....

I'm sure if you picked up a crow bar/large wrench/cross bow and said "Right if you two aren't going, I am." They'd have probably followed you.
