The Veolia incinerator?
Yup - the living wall is alive and well.
I wish I'd had the foresight to photograph the project as it was being built - whatever one may think of the incinerator and its political/economic problems, it was a quite stunningly beautiful and fascinating construction project. Now it looks like ... a kinda interesting bit of modern industrial architecture.
But as it was being built - with the starkness of the wooden framework being erected, hoop-by-hoop, standing against the sky. The cleanliness of the lines in the sunset. The sheer immensity. And the way the space was gradually filled in - the machinery and duct-work, then the external covering.
Breath-taking. Was a favourite route for a long while - just to ride by, and watch the behemoth take shape. [But I thought of a camera WAY too late

I got the transparent padlock set for about £6 from China. Quite a handy wee kit to have around.
