I was tempted to go to one of the free breakfasts in Bristol this morning, but unfortunately there aren't any in my side of town (I commute in from the south). I also was going to join in on Bristol Biggest Bikeride on Sunday, but decided to go to Silverstone instead! Not very committed am I?!

Joined the Uni crowd in Manchester, although I didn't bother coming in with there organised rides. Lots of people there, good to see. Free Stuff, breakfast vouchers, bike repair and security marking. Met John from here - very useful Cyclechat Jersey. Any other CCs there?

I breakfasted with the Fossman, must have been at about 9.15 when we went for food. Our lot didn't turn up until 8.55 from an 8.10 start!!!

Our ride picked up 10 riders - pleasent ride in down the back streets....even some courtious drivers let the whole group cross one main road....

Spotted JTM about 8.45 - just after we arrived, then Sharky. Loads of folk turned up. Sharky was already ordering his food by the time I'd locked up....

Started raining as we came out - had a quick look at the organiser's bike - broken spoke, so advised him to get it replaced, as I didn't want to be buggering up the wheel's tension (quite often you shove in a new spoke and the wheel is pretty true again).

Shoved on the wet gear as it started tipping down, and pootled off back to site....5 miles away from where I had started....

Excellent turn out I'd say. Bike Boutique were very busy doing tune ups, as were the Security/Police marking bikes. Best give away was the breakfast, and for many, a £25 off labour from Bike Boutique (I gave mine back) - ideal for those needing new pads/tyres etc.

That's outrageous !!
You're not kidding!! It was nice to reach work without breaking a sweat though - made a change!!

Not a bad journey... just one ar$ehole in his car along Talbot Road who didn't share my view that I have a perfect right to overtake vans that have stopped... and one of our group got hit by a car after it beeped him furiously before driving into the back RHS of his bike in slow moving traffic!

Thought there were a lot of bikes in the sheds yesterday, hopefully it will get a few more using them full time, it gets a bit lonely in January.

Anyway, as most on here cycle every day, shouldnt we celebrate with a luxurious air conditioned, fly free drive in ?

Bike Breakfast at the Ritz Bar & Grill in Edinburgh Park tomorrow morning from 7.45am. Alpine Bikes will be there talking about the Bike2Work scheme (although I suspect most companies in Edinburgh Park already offer one), and showing off a variety of their wares.

I won't be there as I get in at 6.30am, and I heard there wasn't really anything for veggies last year (although Chris Hoy was there and you could take part in a static bike challenge to try and beat his power output).

My work's going to be registering all bikes with Immobilise tomorrow, though I think ity's unrelated to bike week. They just want to keep a track on who's leaving their bikes chained in the car-park, untouched, for months on end I reckon...

He's fine, and so's his bike - like I said, it was very slow speed at the time... just rather pointless by all accounts (I was leading the ride so didn't know about it until we stopped to see where the rest of the group were). A photo was taken by another member of the group, but no details were exchanged AFAIK.

Brilliant!. I missed the one at City Chambers this morning, plus it is a big diversion for me. The Ritz however is virtually on my route.

Anyone else going to be there?

I suspect there'll be a few gannets bringing a bike in the car boot and then riding it over the road to claim their free scran...
