Got drenched on the way home last night. Kit dried just in time to get wet on the ride in today and it's looking like I'll be in wet clothes for the ride home. In the rain.

Still, at least the wind is good resistance training. And the rain keeps the pollen away.

So, in summary, MTFU ya jessies.

I also live in the north west of England so i'm suffering as well, but isn't it the same every year? I went out last night managing to make it home before the rain came back, and i intend to go out in about half an hour when my tea has settled down:hungry:, and i've convinced myself that cycling in the rain is character building, and separates us from the fair weather family type cyclists:sun: . My fear is puncturing because i'm not the best tube changer and when it's wet and cold i just can't be bothered and end up walking home. That's why i only do local laps when the weather is bad, as well as not being too far from home if the rain gets to me too much.

Been raining pretty constantly since monday and the forecast is rain until a week on friday, forecast doesn't go past that! There's a chance of a slightly dry day on saturday but I'll be hungover so won't want to go on the bike anyway:cry: And people were moaning at the sun, I hate you all :boxing:

Well i went out and did 20 miles though i stayed local as i said before, i'm useless with punctures. I'm happy as i did one and a half mile an hour more than my usual ride average! How that came about i don't know, but i'm not disputing it.
I didn't see another cyclist, though when out there it was mild and no wind so i'm happy i made the effort. I dug out some old overshoes by the way, so my warm, dry(ish) feet made a pleasant change from the usual.

Most of May was pretty good here. Not very warm, but very dry and I certainly got the miles in. Much of this week has been wet and miserable. I went to the gym yesterday for the first time in weeks.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
We've had 8 days sunshine in the past 3 months in the North West.
The rest of the time its been very wet and windy and the outlook for the weekend is the same .. Its just miserable..Please stop raining..:-(
Howz it for you?
Been off work all week and i have had 1 day when its not been pissing it down when i have chance for a ride, mind you been off the bike for 2 days with the trots and pukes so no cycling for a few days til i can walk without feeling dizzy .

Aghhh!! My great ride has been spoilt!! I heard a loud hissing in the middle of the night, and when i looked my nightmare had come true,my front wheel was flat. How a puncture happens eight hours after riding i don't know, but it's happened quite a lot before!

Best thing to do is remain optimistic:

1. You don't have to water the garden.
2. Relief from the blasted hayfever.
3. A recovery of the water deficit (I expect the hosepipe bans to be lilted pretty soon).
4. No humid, sticky nights and associated sleeplessness.
5. The feeling that if you can cycle in this weather, you can withstand pretty much anything the British climate can throw at you.
6. More space in the bike shed at work.

Yes none stop rain trouble is our weathers never any good, I wish I had moved to the sunny USA when I was younger, it is too late now as at my age (it is a 9 hour flight) I would now maybe make it. lol . . .
