Must admit, there are very few (fiction) books I've re-read, even the real greats: 1984, Catch-22 etc. Couple of suggestions up-thread and in the rubbishing of great books thread. Ones I fancy re-reading might include Catch-22, Zen& the art etc. There's so much I haven't read, so should really read Dickens, (finish) war and peace, etc first

Joshua Plumtree

Approaching perfection from a distance.
As a kid I loved The Secret Seven and The Famous Five by Enid Blyton and all of Agatha Christie's murder mysteries, especially when Miss Marple was involved! Then some John Wyndham as a teenager.

Nowadays stuff by John Steinbeck. Cannery Row is fantastic.

Vanity Fair, Thackery.

Have lots of Dickens in the house but can't read any that I've watched on TV or at the cinema, so haven't read Oliver Twist or A Christmas Carol for this reason.

Almost anything by Thomas Hardy.

Read Catch 22 several times over as a young man. Made me laugh out loud every time. Funnily enough, re-read it recently and it left me cold.
