I said I wouldnt post this to avoid a stampede. But I couldnt resist. A very kind man has made these bottle holders on his 3D printer for my Brompton 9 Streets. I am not divulging who. My task is to find out how tough they are. I think they will look great on the bike.

Those look nice.

I'm not really up to speed with this 3D printing lark. I'm assuming these are "non-standard" so that they fit your Brommie, but how were they created?

Did you just programme in an existing template/design and the printer just spat the finished product out, or do you have to programme in the measurements/design yourself?

3D printing has been around for over 20yrs. The first resins were brittle and just used for prototypes and visualisation.
Todays 3D materials are very good and are used for finished product.
The part first has to be modeled with 3D drawing software to create a part file which is read by the 3D printer.

My only concern is with the design, the bottle holder has to be just the right size to grip your bottle or it might slip out ?
