I think Night Train mentioned in another post that he uses them as zipper replacements in a figure of 8 with a crimp in the middle...
have to confess mine found the bin as well after the recycling men returned them to me.

Yes, and it's a neat bit of work, and looks rather stylish.

I wouldn't throw them away either. I'd hoard them until I thought of a use for them, perhaps incorporated into jewellery or model making....

Put them in a big box with all your other metal cast offs. In a year, you'll have enough to go to the scrap metal merchants and make a few quid out of it.
