Having no interest in participating in competitive cycling, I've put my name onto the ballot for this.

I'm using my Wife's one!
Need to practice speedy unfolding - the start is like Le Mans where the participants run to their vehicles, and have to unfold it before starting.
Suffice to say I'm not expecting to win, but should be a laugh.

I've seen something like it at the Nocturne. Was a good laugh to watch. The fast guys really seem to care about it though :-) (although the same could be said about the Boris Bike race they had).

I am number 385 I think, so rather a long way down the seeding list . I hope to manage to complete half the course before the winner finishes and the race ends

.I'm rather looking forward to it, but to be honest the visit to London and an evening theatre trip is more appealing than the actual race which is probably going to be rather a faff and a lot of time wasting before 20+ minutes of frantic, if inefficient, pedalling

That was so much fun.

Did you enjoy it? You must have started not far from where some of us were watching. The fast peleton were really impressive, as were some of the costumes .

It was brilliant I ended up a long way down the listing, finishing in 29'38", completing 6 laps - which placed me at 280 out of 332 (Men), but had a load of fun. Some people took it very seriously and went really fast which was a little scary if the fast group passed you on a corner, but I managed not to knock anyone off - so I count it a success.

The Brompton is a little sick now though, something is seriously amiss with the rear gear changer thingy and the chain grinds as it goes around - hopefully it is nothing too disasterous. I think it got knocked in the luggage room of the hotel.

But all in all an absolute hoot

A couple of pics. I'm the one in the first pic with the bright tie. I got 190th in the men, which I'm pretty happy with as I was in wave D. Hopefully improve next year if I can get in.
