BSA pathracer my first big resto thoughts?

Ive just bought this old girl looks great fun to ride thinking of either having powder coated rims re spoked etc or oily rag style resto has anyone been in this position how far should you take them as I dont want to wreck it if leaving it as is was the best option??? Any ideas on what age it is?

oily rag for me as well and as @raleighnut says i would also want a brake or 2

looking at the headset i would think pre 50's for sure might even be older

Whats the best way to do an oily rag resto on frame involves (clean)oil? As I might start this weekend cheers for all help

Yep, I believe 'path racer' is an old name for what we would call a track bike.

ETA: just looked it up to check and according to wikipedia, a 'path racer' is a bike for both road and track:

Thanks for that will have a look so ive bought a speed machine cool it quite light in weight aswell

I think certainly earlier than 1930. Probably had a front spoon brake. I suspect the sprocket and chainset might not be original.

That's a lovely old thing. I'd go for a repaint or powered coat myself - there ain't , much of the original finish left so I wouldn't feel guilty. T'is a personal thing though.
