never reached the bad books for me, nothing quite like a punnet of strawberries and a pot of clotted cream...you can keep the scones and jam though
I was brought up to believe that it's a first class ticket to a High Dependency Unit, not that it stopped me indulging.

Local supermarket has a cheap version of a branded spread that looks and tastes very similar.

Its called "I can't believe its not 'I can't believe its not butter!'"

For a really bad experience you need to be fed mashed potato with spread in it.

Same goes for new potatoes, and carrots!

Only butter will do for any of those.

It may surprise you, but a big percentage of cows are no longer grass fed in many places. In the USA for instance, most are now corn-fed.
And that's better than the alternatives: protein feed that contains animal - including bovine - material. Not sure if this is still used. Not in the EU, I'd guess.

That's at least part of spread of BSE, cattle eating the the waste products - including nervous systems - of cattle that had BSE.

As some on here know, I've avoided carbs as far as possible in the last couple of years, and ensure I only use butter, cream etc - none of that poisonous margarine rubbish. I wouldn't say I'm stick thin, but I lost 15kg over 2-3 months by sticking with eating assorted tasty combinations of fat & protein.

So yes, sections of the food industry have mislead the western world over the last few decades.

Fixed wheel fanatic.
I used to eat margarine until a couple of years ago when a documentary on TV showed it to be one chemical away from emulsion paint!
Butter for me ever since and a few months ago I went back to full fat milk.

Ah - the usual inaccurate reporting from the Daily Wail... their 'Medical Correspondent' is a joke.

The research draws some 'interesting' conclusions from very sparse data. The idea that you could get a good idea of someone's dietary habits from their medical records is laughable.

The whole study has been quite heavily criticised by other academics.

I don't need a study to tell me not to eat fake food. If I were in charge they'd still have to dye the filthy stuff pink.
