The route from Keswick to Newlands Pass, Buttermere and then Winnlater is a great route. The last bit of Newlands going clockwise is very hard and I struggled up the last 30 meters. However with Winnlater Visitor centre there is an excellent tea stop, serving REAL TEA with strainers. And lovely cakes if you need refreshment. The ride along the lakes is very scenic, and for the swimmmers amongst you Buttermere and Crummock are lovely for a dip or a good mile swim. Bit cold if you are not used to it. Reflections when the lakes are still are quite amazing. Or if you prefer Ulswater its a short drive as I did thjis morning. Route takes about 2 hours http://www.cycle-route.com/routes/Keswick_to_Buttermere_Ring-Cycle-Route-2980.html great parking spot for Keswick (AND FREE) is http://www.walkthefells.net/PAGES/WALK_STARTS/SP_ID_002.html by stormwater Bridge
