It's a neat idea but hardly a new one. Practically every weekend I seem to hear that the Jubilee Line has been "suspended between Stratford and North Greenwich" - I keep meaning to go and have a look, it must require a truly enormous amount of cable to keep it all up.

The whole thing sounds suspiciously like the 'iconic' Edinburgh Tram project. Cue lots of taxpayer funded company expenses on ski holidays fact-finding missions to places with cable cars

Cable cars are fun. This sad horizontal one is a whole lot more like the end of Get Carter. Never mind, the Olympic budget might lob in a bit more to jazz things up...
