Cable splitters as used on Moultons / S&S Coupled bikes

I have seen in a few places cable splitters, which largely seem designed to be used on bikes with frames you can split, as it makes the two pieces genuinely separate. Example from SJS here https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/cables/jtek-cable-splitter-for-inner-brake-wire-black/

It occurred to me that splitters would also allow you to swap handlebars easily - I have one bike I use for everything, and sometimes I would like to swap bars on it - it has John Tomac drops on it but if I do a ride that is mostly off road, it would be nice to put it's original flats back on. If I had splittable cables this would be very easy to do (especially as I use friction shifters)

However - all of these splitters seem to fit on a section of cable with no outer, so I can't use them on my bike - the front brake cable needs to have outer for it's full length, and the rear runs only has a bare cable in the run across the top of the top tube so it'd rattle like hell. I also think the gear cables might lie too close to the down tube for splitters to fit in without them touching the frame.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get cable splitters that allow you to split cables with outers? Cheers.

I'll ask around my Moultoneer friends at the weekend, tho i can't think of how it would work without some sort of tensioning device and being a right PITA...

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Give SJS a ring. They know what they're doing, and they're pretty helpful.

Might it be possible to fit cable stops under the stem to have a short length of bare cable there and split in that?, if you put the handlebar end one on a Minoura Space Saver mount it would unclamp from the stem and travel with the bars.

Thanks - although your second part is correct - I'd assumed it would be quite simple, so I've just tried to sketch it out, and you're right, it would be a right PITA, which would explain why I can't find any!

Yes, though i think you'd need to find a four-barrel one , or use two of those on the rear part of each stem and one of these with a quad stop mounted on it that would travel with the bars but clamp onto the front of the stem.

Interesting idea - not sure where I could fit it all in though - I'll have a think. I guess you mean cable stops like this sort of thing?
