I like steel bikes and I cannot lie..
Not paid attention for a while but pre-2004 (IIRC) models have a rep for ingesting the broken ceramic bits of the pre-cats into the engine, which kills them. £2k for an X-plate in an undesireable colour seems excessive.. they're known for rear subframes rotting out although at least it's bolt-on. Luggage space is very limited too..
Otherwise they're well-regarded as drivers' cars, good on fuel with typical Jap reliability and will probably appreciate.

That clouding on the headlights is easily removable as I scratched some off with my thumbnail.

Yes, I heard that on a video I watched about the car. I do like to hoard stuff in my Fiat 500, so a lack of storage space would be a problem.

I typed in my details on a car insurance website. The cheapest was approximately £370, compared to my current £278 for my Fiat 500 cabriolet. I wonder how much the 'road tax' is?🤔

Indeed; I quite fancied one for while but I think it would have been too impractical. If you buy one I'd strongly advise going for a post-2004 / facelift example for the reasons in my previous post..
According to Parkers road tax is £335-345/yr as emissions are relatively high compared to modern stuff (and the probably dodgy associated test procedures).

Mmm, I could live with the nearly 100 quid a year insurance rise🤔, but £340 'road tax' is 305 quid more than I pay now!
