I have regularly eaten rabbit and offal, and would have no problem with horsemeat, it just isn't readily available.

That's one of my gripes - in Belgium it's near enough standard offering on the butcher's slab. Shame, because it's good, and a good deal cheaper than beef.

Remember Princess Anne saying something of that ilk a few years ago when the horsemeat-in-burgers thing blew up. Part of the problem here in the UK is that horses tend to be treated with medication that isn't allowed to get into the human food chain.
