I tend to find a Dremel ideal for the cables and outers. Cutting blades are cheap to replace and it doesnt crush the outer when cutting. The Dremel itself can be used for lots of things around the home and garage/shed.

Likewise for the outers, nice clean cuts. Cables, first pair of pliers I find in my shed

Wilkos did a pair of side cutters that have done me well over the last two years, and I am forever changing stuff, a quid they were, nice clean cut does outers too, but need to clean it up to be sure.

Just posted this in another thread. I use pliers with a cable cutter. They work very well.

You may have a pair in your tool box already.
Was just about to post the same. Work a treat.

When you do get a decent set of cutters do not use them for anything else, and don't let anyone borrow them. Don't ask me how I know this. :cursing:
There is an old adage "The right tool for the right job", keep trying to tell the O.H. this one, she still buys cheap stuff ok when starting out in life I guess, but I had a B&D drill last me over 25 years and it did get some hammer, two drills she bought both packed up inside 4 years.
