I am very health at 50 because I never go to the Docs: last time I went, after months of niggling pain, thinking a bone in my hand was cracked, the cheeky sod said I've got the onset of arthritis, expected in somebody my age

Hey, that's just what happened to me a few months ago! Been lifting heavy stuff for too long and thought the doctor might give useful advice on a sore hand/wrist. Oh no, you've got arthritis, nothing can be done, p1ss off and die. Decided to try cod-liver oil capsules instead and it's much better now and should be gone soon (I didn't stop lifting heavy stuff either). Could have been the capsules or simply time the great healer.
Doctors should carry a public health warning.

Cod liver is good for the old(ish) bones, been taking it for years ... for when I actually get old
I had banged my hand at work (over enthusiastic banging of a espresso machine coffee group), took a few months before the pain went.
