i use a kazoo on a lanyard... if the ped ahead looks old and doddery, they get a blast of the Steptoe & Son theme.. if they're young and fresh, a bit of Sclub 7 does the trick... everyone in-between gets a blast of phil collins... who's music strangely sounds much better on a kazoo.

I am thinking of carrying a big bag of bells. They will be quite useful to throw at people wearing earphones or using mobile phones as they sure won't hear a ting of a bell attached to my handlebars.
Well, that gives an entirely new meaning to going bellistic :becool:.

The bell on fitted to my bike when new wasn't worth the plastic & steel it was made of. So I promptly removed it freeing up space for a 2nd headlight.
If I came across a nice looking & functional bell I'd have one.

Just had a quick google. It seems even Brooks with their good olde fashioned saddles, bags, cork bar ends and leather accessories don't see a market for a quality bicycle bell.

I also bought a bulb horn for my bike once, because they are hilarious.

Sadly it fell off the same day.

I'm full of fascinating stories today.

I thought about this one, as I'm drifting Whig for the next elections, and thought a bell with an owl would be emblematic. (as the owl is the symbolic critter mascot for the U.S. Whig Party.) Then I thought about this one, in case I got lost-http://www.amazon.com/Bell-1007118-Navigator/dp/B0001CTZ6W/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1382492455http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007FHGGO0/ref=asc_df_B007FHGGO02766161?smid=ACD4013XBS5C9&tag=pgmp-790-97-20&linkCode=asn&creative=395109&creativeASIN=B007FHGGO0&sr=8-4&keywords=bell+bicycle+accessories
and considered this one for the obvious-http://www.amazon.com/Bell-7015983-...703&sr=8-51&keywords=bell+bicycle+accessories

Do I need to get the spray plaster out?
I have a bell, I am a timid bell user, but luckily I also have a 3 year old in a trailer playing a wooden harmonica which does the job really well, small people have bells but they also have horns, they prefer the horns!

I also have a dog but no extendable lead

The bells that I have removed after buying bikes appear to be there purely to satisfy the law (in certain countries) and were pretty useless.

In the UK the only law regarding bells is that a brand new bike must be sold with one. There is no actual requirement to have one on your bike.
