Hi all, first post on this forum, glad I found it as i could use a little help,

The CAADX has a through axle on the front wheel, i think it might have lost a cap on the opposite side to the level, but im not certain, i dont want to ride it if a safety critical component is missing, or allow water or sand to get in. Can anyone tell me if it looks like a cap or cover is missing ?

Many thanks in advance

Andy

Loch side.
No, there's nothing missing. That hole is for an allen key.

Nothing missing at all and, as already been said, the hole does look allen key shaped. I dont know for sure why it has an allen key hole at that end as all the tightening and undoing is done from with the lever at the other end. Only thing I can think of is if it is to allow the lever end to be built up and tightened onto the axle?
By the way, if your lever works like mine you can give the lever a sharp tug to pull it away from the fork and it should slide off the axle by 5 or 6mm with a firm click a d allow you to turn it freely to line the lever up with the fork leg without turning the axle. Once you are happy with the position it will click/lock back in place with a firm push.
