Thanks for all the replies. I think I've pretty much decided on the Bianchi, pending a test ride of course.

Thanks for pointing out the other options, titch. You've got me looking at the Ultegra now.

Bianchi.

But more importantly, be wary of due dates. Not sure if things have changed, but there was a period not so long ago when due dates were a bit on the myhical side. I think there was a fire in their warehouse or something.

With regards to Evans, I think like most chain stores there can be variability in the competence of the people working in the shops. I've had good service from both my local store and online YMMV.

well for what its worth now, bettrenever than late perhaps?

I have a bianchi via nirone xenon, because I prefer campag, and its in white, and has been very reliable.

I upgraded the wheels not because they needed changing but I needed new wheels for my winter bike so used the ones off the bianchi and changed those to fulcrum racing 5's. Saddles are a matter of personal choice but for me the san marco original was painful, so changed that, Zaffiro tyres are hard wearing but not great in wet IMO so changed those too. White bar tape gets dirty in 5 minutes so that's black now.

The rest is original though and it's good enough for me, done about 4k miles so far no problems.

Sorry, can't compute. A Bianchi in celeste is the very definition of cycling porn! But then I would say that

Well it's not that I don't like it (it does look very nice with a mix of black colours), I just don't think it suits me very much. I tend to prefer red/white/black colour schemes.

By the way, I'm decided on the Via Nirone Ultegra:

Gonna try it out for size tomorrow. I'll try to remember to post pics when I get her.

Not a bad choice, but no Celeste and no Campag?

Not having one or the other is forgiveable but both

I would have gone for either this or if budget allows this

But I'm sure you'll enjoy the Bianchi immensely

Yeah, well...

As I said, the celeste colour scheme doesn't really suit me, so that was never an option. Yeah, having Campag would be nice to make it more "authentic" I suppose, but I'm not so much of a purist that it'll make any difference to me.
