Or this as a solution - note, the Pistonheads thread I've pinched these from is a very bad place for me to inhabit atm as its giving me ideas -http://www.pistonheads.com/GASSING/topic.asp?h=0&f=210&t=1268304&mid=0&i=0&nmt=Idiotic Neighbour!&mid=0

Buy a clamp.
Buy a padlock.
Hide in bushes and let an evenings entertainment begin.
If funds allow, when he goes in to phone the police/council/whomever quickly put a second clamp on and then a third and if you manage to do all four shout 'BINGO' at the the top of your voice and run off giggling like a schoolgirl.

Some stuff on the pistonheads forum is the funniest I've read short of Douglas Adams. The "custard test" I think was also born there - a foolproof way of confirming an outlandish claim. It was recently used when a girl (!) joined the forum and started asking questions and everyone thought she was a bloke pretending for a laugh. I think whats-his-google-face used a variant of this a while ago when asked to prove his identity on a forum and took some pictures of his supercar collection with various different types of bread on the bonnet

I think it's this (from here - http://www.pistonheads.com/GASSING/topic.asp?h=0&t=1268304&d=12144.63554&nmt= ):

Big bag of frozen sausages from Morrisons. Other supermarkets are available but you're up north.

Hammer them into his/her lawn vertically.

Wait until thawed, and every bird/badger/hedgehog/dog/fox in the area has ripped the lawn a new one.

If it's a big enough lawn, words can be formed in Ardennes style trenches.

Like a big Art Attack.

That is more beautiful than the entire output of Mozart. I thought "hammer frozen sausages into his lawn"

WAS SOME SORT OF DISGUSTING EUPHEMISM.

or sprinkle grass seeds to spell out a word or phrase of your choice. The grass will undoubtedly be a different green and will slowly appear over a couple of weeks

Is it possible that they misjudged your speed, and did not allow themselves enough time to get the turn in, after all 27mph is quite quick for a non cyclist to comprehend. I think if it was on purpose they should be made to ride a bike on the road until they have clocked up 1,000 miles, not in one go, that would be just a bit too much.

Now the nice thing is you knew they were going to do something stupid as soon as they overtook you, now you might wonder how you knew, obvious, we just assume every single other person on the road be they, motorist, cyclist, pedestrian, horse rider, skateboarder etc. is out to get us. Then when they do not you are well pleased.

Go and let all their tyres down in the middle of the night.

Mission accomplished Sara! Though i've only done one as i thought the inconvenience of changing or pumping up a flat tyre was fair payback for them inconveniencing me!:thanks:

Thanks to others for the replies by the way!;)

You're too kind, I would have done all four for sure. Lucky for them they crossed you and not me!

I would have done none, 2 wrongs do not make a right. All it will do is make the guy late and put another angry driver on the road.

Am I abnormal in using my door/wing mirrors before making a turn or using roundabouts? Serious question.

It's something I was taught long ago and reinforced when I took my bike test where they called it a 'life-saver' when you check over your shoulder. In the case of a motorcyclist it's most likely their own life they are saving; land rover, someone else's.

I use a life saver all the timee when I change position in the road, or turn left or right....biker training as well

When I am on the road the same as you no doubt, I expect everybody to be doing something stupid and trying to kill me. When they do not it is a pleasant suprise

Like you I have done driving test, bike test. Police motor bike riding courses etc. Riding and driving defensively is the way to survive. Unfortunately not every driver has your skills, or if they do they do not always use them.

I am out in the car today for maybe 100 miles, I could likely fill this forum with the bad driving I see in those miles, tractors, phone use, speeding, without care, smoking, bad parking, cyclist with no lights, etc.

Although it may have looked like it I was not defending the driver, just saying what could have happened.
