Carbon wheels and latex tubes

I have some DCR carbon wheels, 38mm section, with the usual "oh shoot" problems with braking, I have tried Koolstops and gigapower blocks and I am still not sure about them, however I'm persevering and they work when the conditions are right and I now have latex tubes and Rubino Pro G+ tyres.

I was reading review on latex tubes etc and the review made some comments that latex tubes are not a good idea on carbon wheels because the heat build up under braking may cause them to burst.

Any thoughts on if this is likely?

I'm considering these wheels for the Ride London and there's a fair few descents where I'm likely to be braking hard, or do I stick with my aluminium rims (lower profile and about the same weight).

I had a couple of blow outs with latex so just use butyl tubes - it was probably something in the rim but I can't really tell the difference so it's a no brainer.

Re the wheels - I hedge my bets with a full carbon rear and front alloy rim combo which works well both in the rain and descending.
