The bigger picture is that even if us cyclists "pick on" cars jumping red lights, it's only a good thing for us and for society. The police can carry on doing their work sorting out all sets of road users. There's no need to be negative about anyone reporting misdeeds to the police, just as no-one other than taypet complained about your reporting him.
