Cause trouble in a empty house

At lunch time I was cycling through this junction; I was coming from Princes St (road on the right) and turning left to Lothian Rd (the road at the bottom) in the Primary. WVM was coming from Rutland Pl (the road on the left) turning right into Lothian Rd. The junction is a bit of a mess at the moment but there is effectively two lanes on exit to Lothian Rd, with mine becoming a bus lane. I was slightly ahead and to the left of him, my rear wheel parallel with his cab. So I accelerated to make sure I was visible and to gain protection from that great big Purple Double decker that was parked only 2-3 bike lengths ahead.

WVM passes with about 2m to clear without either of us having to deviate our path but he then stops and for his passenger to mouth that I'm an effing barsteward and I shouldn't be in the middle o the road. I couldn't think of anything other than "so, this is a bus lane". He didn't like that and came back with a similar colourful line, "you effing daffodil you shouldn't be in the middle o the road". As I cycled off leaving him stuck in a jam I could hear him muttering similar again "effing cyclist".

Nice person :sad::rolleyes:

People who shout obscenities at you from the comfort of their cage are all a bunch of limp-dicked cowardly bullies.

Well done, HLaB, for not losing your cool. Good to ignore them.

Jealousy -- As a 10 year Car commuter who has started Cycling I can see why Car drivers don't like Cyclists.

Most Car drivers think Cyclists shouldn't be on the road but this is down to a lack of education and down right laziness.
The amount of people amazed that I cycled 8 miles to work after having not being on a bike a bike for 13 years is crazy.
I'd say it's in most peoples capability to do a Journey of 1.5 - 2miles by bike.
