weather watch starting ... not looking too bad for Saturday at the moment ...

For catering purposes, is there anything that those attending would rather not eat, soup-wise? I can easily keep the soup vegetarian, but if there are no objections, there might be the odd bit of pork ... in the past there have been requests for "no mushrooms", "no celery" and similar.

I won't ask whether anybody would rather not have cake , but if there are any allergies/intolerances to bear in mind, please just say.

I can be very intolerant of lack of cake! :ninja::boxing::hungry:
Will there be homemade bread to dip in the homemade soup?:rose::mrpig:

Anyone planning on heading east?

;) You certainly seem to have a very large tolerance for chocolate and other types of that important food group called cake ...
Raisin phobia, anybody?

Weather permitting, the chief baker will be off gallivanting on her bike :wahhey:from mid-morning rather than slaving in the kitchen :heat: ...
 Luckily there is a bread machine in the house for such occasions, though ... all being well, we should be arriving at the RV to the smell of a freshly baked loaf.

It's an RV Ride, @Louch. The 'rules' of an RV ride are that you can ride as far or as near as you wish, you just need to be at the RV :hungry: during the time the main protagonist is going to be there.

In this case, there is no need for you to ride from Upper Menstrie, Fife, FRB or anywhere else. You are quite permitted to ride from a train station, a car park - or even from the C'wealth Pool to chez HJ/ Telemark ;) - and you do not even 'need' to go on the 55km ride to 'qualify' for your feed ! :hungry:

Whether you could live with yourself after riding round the corner from the RCP to HJ/ T's is another matter ... for another time and place.

I just need to work out how long it will take me to cycle :bicycle: from chez Scoosh to chez HJ/ T. :hungry:

Just back from Norfolk tonight, back on the commute in the morning. Looking forward to Saturday. Lots of extra calories to burn off from my stay in the hotel. It would have been rude not to have the full English breakfast every morning. Dougie, do you want to meet up outside Nitten pool and cycle in? If so, what time suits you?

I'll add you to the list, then you HAVE to come along

EDIT: Did I already add you to the list earlier or did somebody else do that themselves?
EDIT 2: Pah! 1st post edited by "a moderator" this morning :boxing::gun::B)

6 months ago you would have been raging if one of us had said that - nothing better than a bike ride to shake off a bad week! And as @Scoosh says, you could drive/train it part way, cycle for a bit, stuff the Scran and leave! You know it makes sense bud...

@Louch ... do as Scoosh & Fubar say :hugs: ... you'll feel so much better after a wee ride with friends and some cake! Just take the train and enjoy the social bit, and the fresh Scottish air will clear your head after being stuck in the city for a week . It'll only be half a day, you can be home mid-afternoon ...

I was severely demotivated a few years ago, was thinking about giving up cycling outright, someone on the old cp forum said something that I'll never forget, and I think it's relevant to the discussion...
Wise yet concise post on the cp forum a few years ago said:

its not the cycling, I just have a lot to cram into the weekend when I am up the road, as I am back late Friday, and away early Monday for the full week again. Edinburgh and back in any form gives up most of my day Saturday.
