I sat facing Robert Powell across a table on a train once, had breakfast in a Belfast hotel with Robbie Coltrane at the next table (pre-Harry Potter).

Oh and I've dined and danced with Victoria Hislop, author and wife of Private Eye's Ian Hislop.

John Carew (footballer) plays golf at my course occasionally.

Sat next to Neil Robertson (snooker player) on a Ryan Air flight from Norway to England.

Saw and mingled with plenty of celebs when I lived in Stockholm (politicians, actors, musicians, sportsmen and women).

I used to see Martin Shaw out and about a fair bit, when I lived in Wymondham. He lived in a village that I used to cycle through fairly often. The village was on a really nice, pretty route that I really miss.
Mark Knopfler when I was a courier.
Had a conversation with Wolf from Gladiators, after bumping in to him (literally). I knew I recognised him from somewhere, but not sure where. I have a large, extended family so assumed he was an older cousin or something. We had a brief chat, where I ascertained that the family were fine etc, as you do, but I was in a bit of a hurry so cleared off. It wasn't until I saw on the evening news, that he was in town to open something or other, that I twigged
Met David Bowie, when I worked in IT and he came to our offices and spent time there over a couple of days. He was a lovely bloke. Really really nice.

As I grew up in South Bucks in the 70-80s there were a lot of famous people around. John Lawrie and Margaret Rutherford were round the corner. Lewis Collins had a farm on the edge of the village. Johnny Ball (and a very young Zoe) were near by. Tony Hart, Eddie Large and Roy Castle were always about and I would see Cliff Richard many mornings on my way to school. Noel Edmonds would fly his helicopter over, and I was friends with the sons of Peter Diamond who did the stunts on the original Star Wars.

Most importantly though, the woman off the shake'n'vac advert lived down the road. Best that one star spotters!
