Our electric heated floor failed a few weeks ago. Sparky put his multi-meter on it today, it’s open circuit. Now waiting for a specialist to come and do his magic next week.

I have mine on more than off these days. For example, even in previous winters, I've turned it off before bed, till the following evening. Now that I tend to stay in more in the winter months than I used to do, I turn it on in the evening and then turn it off in the afternoon when I tend to get up, putting it back on again around 9 to 10 pm. I'm not bothered about rising costs etc as my monthly bill has been £108, no matter whether it's for the summer months, or the winter months for ages now. No way am I going to freeze like other oldies say they do!:stop:

How the hell do you keep warm in 16 Celsius/60 Fahrenheit?! I have my flat temperature, as I post at 25 Celsius/77 Fahrenheit and I have a few layers on. 🙄

We never have our heating on at more than 18c, OK if we have the Logburner lit it will get warmer (to the point it causes the thermostat to turn the boiler off) but at 18c I'm in shorts and T-shirt outside.

If you can sit outside at 18 Celsius, wearing a t-shirt and shorts, you must have a much larger/higher BMI than mine! 😉👍

I've modified an almost lifelong habit, no heating on at night to...leaving the stat at 16C. This.makes the house more comfortable for the kiddos, it can be warmed quicker if needed and the background temps are ok for me even at night.
As.my wife is currently in hospital and she always looked after the billing side...I have no idea what were currently paying per month. Still heavily in credit...

You may well be both older and skinnier than him, either of which tend to make you feel the cold more.

Looking at the photos you have posted, I think most of us have a higher BMI than you. There are rakes around with higher BMI

But we also vary a lot in metabolism. I have always been very warm, to the extent that even in the depths of winter, I normally only have a 6 tog quilt on the bed, in summer (which is usually from some time in early May until late October), I only have a quilt cover. This year was quite a warm Autumn, and it was mid-November before I wanted the quilt.

And on the bike, I am normally bare-legged down to about 6C, bare armed down to abut 11-12C.

We've had the lounge storage heater on maximum the last couple of days, just noticed the temperature has dropped under 20C in here tonight and the wintery snap has barely begun.

Chilly week incoming!

'Skinnier'! 'Rakes'!😲 Have you been on the pop old chap?!🤔 🧐 😏 I watch many videos, films made before around 1990. Most folk are like me, svelte figure wise! I like to think that I have a 'retro' figure.😎
