They're rather harder than most sponges and it hasn't broken up yet.

Anyone have an idea of how many washes they will last? I've tried using the hard side of a regular dish sponge bit it lasted about 10 seconds before being reduced to a tattered mess.

My other bike is a Pinarello
3 1/2 years old. Hundreds of chain cleaning cycles with a bit of white spirit.
Nothing on the landfill so far.

I was using one of those but I've switched over to using the Mickle method ™. :smile:

I wipe the Chain with a rag about twice a week. If the chain seems a bit dry I put some lubricant on it then swish the chainwheel around few times and wipe it a second time.

I find it is a lot simpler and just as effective.

Stick em in your washing machine, preferably with your dirty loin cloths.
