"the swap would entail nothing more elaborate that swapping a few nameplates and plaques".

That, plus the welded/brazed plates for every serial numbered piece of equipment and fitting, plus shutting up the crews, hundreds of dockyard workers and hundreds of contractors and suppliers workers, all of which would have known all or parts of both ships intimately down to the last scratch and minor alteration.

Complete Occam's Razor fail. It's all about website hits and unfortunately, I've just added one to that sum.
And thats why i never buy into the 'they never landed on the moon' theories. Too many people involved, hundreds of thousands...even if you narrow it down to the more senior or technical people that would have to be complicit.....after all these years, SOMEONE would have chirped up, at least ONE person surely.

I loved the film, and was intrigued by all the drama and some mystery/unsolved questions from the horrific event.

I then found a potential conspiracy theory, regarding the ships being swapped. The Titanic had a sister ship called The Olympic - with some minor differences. I have attached a link below detailing the conspiracy. It is very convincing and I for one had always joked about it being an insurance job, in addition to the physics argument with the iceberg and timing/angles etc.

This website only confirmed all this.....plus....way too many suspicious coincidences,

(This website is different to the one I wanted to add, but the message is roughly to the same effect)

Not really convincing at all, imo.

A series of suspicions built on assumptions - at least the website has the decency to provide the evidence against the theory; everything found on the wreck was marked with Titanic serial numbers, the Olympic was in service for decades after and nobody noticed anything Titanic about it.

Nah, if they never went then there were not that many people involved, let's face it the astronauts are't going to spill the beans, they've been riding the wave ever since

The Russians would have tracked every inch of the journey and if anything didn't seem right they'd have been headlining from day one.
Maybe they did? Would we have known, there was not Tinternety thing in them there days,

I'm sure the Soviets sent a lunar rover with a camera to one of the Apollo landing sites to verify it.

Vladimir Ilyushin. Heavily rumoured to be the second man in space, the first that survived, but having landed in China and kept prisoner by the Chinese reds he was considered an embarrassment to the Soviet regime. Gagarin was the third, The official first, and died some years later...or was murdered to keep him quiet, because his conscience couldn't handle it and he's become alcoholic and started to blab...
