Hi

I have been asked to organise a charity cycle. The cycle is 265 Km in one day this August. There are four of us, all experienced cyclists, and regularly do 200 - 300 Km a week. I'm looking for hints and tips so as I don't forget anything that might spoil or hinder the cycle.

Thanks in advance for any help
Alan

Set the course. Plot it and download it to your gps and then go and drive it to see how it can be improved.

Insurance. As an 'organiser' you could possibly be liable if something goes wrong, regardless of whether cash changed hands.

and good luck. sounds like a nice little adventure.

I’ve done a few charity rides but Im not aware of any at 265kmin one day, even if you’re doing that in a week doing it in a day is pretty ambitious. At an average of say 15kph that’s over 17 hours. If you want to pull in more people you’re really only looking at hard core cyclists, not your typical average charity ride types.

Which charity are you raising money for? They may have an on-board fund raiser who could give you a lot of advice.
