Spending 'spare' (='our' ;)) money is definitely to be deplored. :headshake:

Have started the ball rolling on the summer holidays :wahhey:, should have answers in a couple of days and then be able to book flights before they get too expensive... And then hopefully be able to confirm one way or another for this one :hyper:... may not quite make the Friday deadline though, unfortunately, but don't let that stop the rest of you from booking!

Hi All

With regards to those who had requested more "private" facilities I got the following email from SYHA:

At the time of writing we could also offer your group the below private rooms:
Lochranza 15th:
Double room - £50.00
Twin room - £50.00
Triple room - £66.00
Quad room - £80.00

Port Charlotte 16th and 17th
Twin room - £45.00
Triple room - £61.00
Quad room - £80.00

So @Louch if you want a room to yourself prices are as above for the room per night (you might want to price a B&B for comparison) - ladies (@Pat "5mph" @Telemark @Ellebells) the triple seems most appropriate so not too much dearer than the shared dorms.

I can extend the deadline a bit further if that helps @Telemark , I didn't want to leave it too long though despite all the interest there are only 5 definites so far (a deadline certainly helps concentrate the minds!) - I can understand it's a long way away but thought it worth getting the accommodation bookings in early with the numbers interested at the time, if there are less people there is a bit less urgency.

Can anyone else wishing to go please confirm on the other thread? Many thanks, Mark

Good to know that quad rooms wouldn't exactly break the bank compared with 'dorms', might be worth paying the extra few £ for the boys, too?

Making good progress with the summer holidays, two of four questions have been answered the way they need to be answered for Islay to work :wahhey:...
