Means there is more room for the flapjack

If we eat all the flapjack on the ferry that's less for you to carry on Arran - you're welcome...

Well my wallet is getting lighter anyway! ;)

I just had a call from Dales who are servicing my bike ahead of the trip... It's probably a good job I took it in as it needs a new chain, rear cassette, bottom bracket, front pads (+ new cables) and the rear hub needs work (apparently there was a lot of 'play' in it). Once extra parts/labour costs etc are added in a £40 service comes to £130, but I suppose with all the things that needed done and given it's not really had any components replaced in the last year, that's not too bad...

I just bought a new bike for the trip
Well, Colombo is a few months old now, but has only done a couple of hundred dryish miles.
How come @Harry_Palmer79 and @Edwardoka are leaving bike matters to the last minute?

For me this is being well prepared.... I could have dropped it off on Wednesday! Turns out the rear wheel doesn't just need the hub serviced, it has cracks round where the spokes attach and needs replaced (so, £60 for that rather than a £25 service).

Oh well, if I didn't spend my money on my bike what would I spend it on?!

Last minute is rebuilding the bike at Brodick ferry terminal and saying "go ahead, I'll catch up".
Second last minute is realising that the Triban 5 is on sale and I could pick one up for only a little more than the cost of fixing the current one.

This, however, is talking about fixing the bike 4 (FOUR) days in advance! That's AGES away! (Although all those youtube videos of pugs won't watch themselves...)

I've done a trial-pack and everything fits. Tis a masterpiece of packaging  Weighs 3kg including the bag!

However, I'm not totally happy with my bar-bag solution, so i have a different rack bag coming which has some side panniers. This should let me get everything I need in that, so I can pop a set of lights on the front. I might even be able to bring a pair of flip-flops to use off the bike.

Sounds like you are very organised, very jealous of everybody going on this trip :boxing::evil:
