I'd use the likes of Game TBH. No quibble etc. Bought both kids DS's (not the DSI or 3DS) and the XBOX 360 with Kinect from there, and the XBOX games usually.....

You'll get some points, but with the DSI you'll know about the 'special cartridges' you can get to load up :whistle:

If you don't know much about the Nintendo DS/DSI, then do some research about the cartridges....:thumbsup: no idea about the 3DS.

Don't worry, this isn't spam.

I've been tasked with buying one as a Christmas present. I have no idea about these gadgety things. Where can I get the best deals?

1) Consider a 3ds - they play DS games too, and most of my lad's friends either have them, or traded their DS' in to get one when they saw his.

2) Gamestracker is worth a look - you can set it up to email you when the price drops, or when a certain price is reached;

3DS - http://www.gamestrac...se-hardware.htm

DSi (actually all types of DS) - http://www.gamestrac...se-hardware.htm

If it's of interest my youngest is getting together his DSI, and all the bits, to sell to put towards another project. I don't know anything about it but can get all the details, pictures, condition, games that would come with, etc.

Obviously I would ensure it was fully operational before I'd let something go for sale and the price would be very reasonable. PM me if this could be of interest and I'll collate all the info and get it across to you.

Thanks. Not after the 3D. They hurt my eyes, so I'm not going to expose a 7 year old's to one.

the function can be turned off completely, as that was the first thoughts i had was . No way are my kids going to be exposed to that.

i am also led to beleive its a faster processor so its worth the extra over the DSi

I was in Hamleys a couple of weeks ago, standing behind a European couple at the 3DS stand. They were playing with it and complaining that the 3D effect was rubbish. Not noticing that the slider beneath the screen was set to off.

Daughter got a 3DS in the summer after being an avid DSLite user for a number of years. The 3DS has barely been used - she still plays on the DSLite as there are barely any 3D games of the kind she likes worth spending money on.

I, on the other hand, would love to get her 3DS as there are a number of games that would suit me down to the ground.

In the meantime I content myself playing the Virtual Reality game 'Face Raiders' on it, as well as playing the VR games that spring to life from the card you put on the table. Oh, and there are some great 3D videos that you can download fro free via the Video app.
