Cheats for moving gravel??

I use this sat over a barrow if I want to move the soil or sat on the ground if I want to move the stones.

I keep reading this as cleats for moving gravel. There you are slip sliding away down that loose slope potentially needing to clip out at any second.

rake it into heaps , hose it down a bit , leave it for a bit ,shovel most of it , repeat

dunno where the pics are, but I once tried to remove weeds from a small triangular area which has red gravel. I pulled the gravel out, hosed it down, picked out the weeds, then pushed the gravel back into place. looked great for about a month or two, before the weeds came back, seemingly stronger

You need to borrow my neighbour. She's obsessive about weeding her gravel. Hands & knees, pulls out the tiniest green shoot and rakes the gravel back into place. Her gravel is immaculate. Mind you, so is her house. She's 80. I hope I can still crawl around the gravel on my hands & knees when I'm her age.

^^This- all except the bottom of the heap should be fairly "clean" / free of soil

Are you absolutely sure she hasn't just collapsed and can't get back to her feet and is living off any weeds she can find in the gravel?
