Wasn't allowed to continue chemistry at school for the last two years there.
Teachers felt there were certain parts I was taking too much intrest in.

Our (excellent) chemistry said to a friend of mine in exasperation "Jonathan, you're just a waste of chemicals!".
Jon was a bright lad to be fair, but was in the process of dropping out of A level chemistry

Ours said to me after just six weeks - IIRC we had just got onto valencies - "You don't really have a clue about any of this, do you?" They were assuming that I would have the same scientific ability as my older brother.
So off I went to do Classics* Greek, Latin and Ancient History and <cough> have never looked back.

*Edited at Classic33's request. It wasn't that sort of school.

Do you mind rewording that last part, before people start talking!

I'm just old enought to have had a practical demonstration of the thermite reaction at school.:hyper: But not quite old enough to have done the speed of sound experiment using a thunderflash. (banned a couple of years previously at my school).

Just saying.

Stylee is far from modern. I came across it in the early eighties which predates the Internet.

.... early 80s is modern :-)
