Funny how winter tree and hedge dieback allows you to see stuff you didnt before. On a meander on the bike, passed the Nene Valley RW station at Ferry Meadows Peterborough, noticed these in their yard...
A Karrier (id forgotten about that makes, I assumed it was perhaps a Commer..

And I think perhaps (i could well be wrong) what looks like a Bedford chassis

Nice to see they've covered it at least. This station is too small to have them in display, I assume theyre just in storage there..

It's still true that not many women drive trucks, but numbers are increasing
Some 'You Tube-rs' like Jemma Warren & Becky Giles help to encourage other women into the business

I thought about the BBC article again, after seeing a woman driving an 8x4 on 'muck-shifting' earlier this morning

Both picked at random

Not so much a 'lost wheel', but an inner rim that failed, due to stress from tight manoeuvering (about 18:00)

I grew up in a lorry driving family, always had an interest in lorries, often thought I'd like to follow in my dad's footsteps and get my HGV licence, but I don't think I'd want to be a lorry driver anymore. So many rules and regulations and the roads are so busy compared to what they used to be.

Some of the trade-press (namely Truck & Driver magazine) stated that it was generally easier to get a (standard) Private Pilots Licence, than attain a C+E (the old 'Class 1')
