I live in a flat on the top floor, so I have difficulty cleaning my bike. I was wondering about getting some device that you can fill up with water, which I could use to hose my bike down in the back yard. Is there something like this? I think I bought something before, but it turned out not to be suitable. I think it had t o be connected to a an outside tap and there wasn't one.

I find a bucket of water (with bubbles of your choice in) works well enough.

I live in an upstairs flat too ;)

I live on the 5th floor of a block. I use the bath to clean the Roadie, I take the Crosstrail to the nearest jet wash place. I do get some looks.

If you own the flat you could get a plumber to fit an outside tap connected to the cold water supply in your kitchen or bathroom. I's not that expensive (here)
Couple of years ago I got an outside tap from a second floor flat fitted for about £ 50.00 plus materials.

Bowl of hot water with car shampoo. Towels on floor. Use a wash mitt in the bowl and squeeze out excess water. Wipe bike down with wash mitt. Dry with towel. Baby wipes on nooks and crannies.

Done.

Pressure pot ? To be honest I have only ever used baby wipes but I guess if you have a muddy MTB you would want to hose it down first .

That's a good point. Though I needed to do that to my road bike after one particularly filthy ride
