Thanks, I phrased my question badly. All I basically meant was 'Are the BB and spanner compatible without the need for the adapter?'.
You've answered that for me.

I should've ordered the adapter ring too - the spanner hole is too big for the BB 😆

Got the adapter ring now.

It fits perfectly over the BB.
However, it's a tight fit for the spanner hole. I think I'll have to tap it in with a hammer.
Very poor design!

I remember having to tap it in with a rubber mallet. Very tight fit. Then, when the job was done, I tapped it out only to discover it had split 🙁

It's not a job I plan on doing very often, so I might just leave the adapter fitted to the spanner.
