Coast to Coast - Whitehaven to Newcastle

Well we made it. Great experience and thoroughly enjoyed it, even the climbs (really enjoyed the Hartside climb) although Crawleyside nearly got the better of me as I had thought we had already done the last climb of the journey foolishly.

Some great long descents where you can maintain your speed which I really enjoyed as the descents up here are always technical and twisty!

Did you go up the off road on hartside or stick to the road in the end?

Just stuck to the road as I saw the off road section and realised why you all said to stay clear of it!!

I was on a few of the off road sections yesterday and they really are crap for bikes

The off-road section through Whinlatter Forest was fun. Be aware though as on the last decent there is a fence at the bottom of the run. As it was raining and I was going full tilt and the fence just consisting of a wooden beam head hight I had a squeaky bum time breaking before it taking my head clean off.
