Yeah I realised that after I had posted. I did edit the post after I realised my mistake. Thanks for the information on its location

I am trying to get hold of the sustrans sea to sea map - but can only find it online and none of the places will deliver before Saturday. Anyone know where I can get this local to Northumberland/Newcastle?

Link to the map I wish to purchase http://www.sustrans.org.uk/shop/route-maps-guides/ultimate-c2c-pack

Your local tourist information office will probably stock it, or local bookshops possibly. Ours do and we are at the start (whitehaven) so I would expect the same at the end.

It will be the Tuesday we pass through Parkhead as we stop at Alston on the Monday night - bit of a gutter as everyone is rating that cafe.

I take it you realise Newcastle is not on the coast - to complete the ride and see the North Sea you will need to go the extra nine or so miles to Tynemouth.

Indeed I do, thanks. Just most places list it as Whitehaven to Sunderland or Whitehaven to Newcastle so I kept with that theme.

Been doing my training for C2C mostly on route 1 which is down the North East coastline which is where I live.

Charged me an £8 handling fee the other day. Couldn't believe it. They must be on more than the footballers at royal mail as they probably handled the parcel for less than a second.

I have actually just done my routes this afternoon. I'm not posh enough to have a garmin - got myself a bryton 40 instead. Here's the route if your interested. Split into day one and day two.
