I have a Decathlon pair with wind proof panels which keep the chill out, I picked mine up for £20 end of season, not sure how much they are full price but Decathlon stuff is generally reasonably priced and good quality.

The full price is about £70, so you got a bargain. Was looking at some last week in Decathlon !

Decathlon windproof gilet £18

Gloves of your choice.

Did a 40 miler on Saturday in the kit as above minus the gilet but with a thin cycling jacket at 4 deg Celsius and plenty warm enough/sweaty when pushing it.

The decathlon stuff I find is good value. It's sports clothing, it's designed to get sweaty and used and replaced when it wears out.
I'm keeping my pretty bibs stored for the summer for when I want to look casually deliberate.

BBB BWS-04 Hardwear overshoes are keeping my feet very warm, and I also like using unpadded Altura Winter Cruiser tights with cycling shorts underneath when it is below about 9 degrees.

I know where my towel is
So far all I have added is a pair of footy socks, as it's still just about warm enough for shorts (in London here, so it will be warmer than up North).

Karrimor running long sleeve t-shirt, Karrimor running long sleeve fleece top, Muddy Fox padded mountain bike shorts, Nike football socks, Karrimor summit 20 hiking trainer shoe things. I am all black and blue, the colouring of the clothing that is...

Not really a lycra person me

In the deepest darkest depths of Winter, thicker socks with a bread bag over the top has always kept my toes warm and waterproof on df bikes. Don't need to bother on the trike though as the fairing keeps my feet/legs, and 'special parts' warm.

Id like to see more budget solutions for cold weather wear as opposed to all these high end extortionate cycling specific brands
We dont all have 100plus quid to squander on expensive bibs, jackets etc
Please post cheap options and even mix and match stuff from the bottom of your wardrobe,it would be much more helpful to hear how ordinary people on a budget get by

I find a pair of thick tights and a normal pair of socks does a perfectly good job of keeping my feet warm.

I think my most expensive piece of clothing would be the Sealskin socks, which I wear with a pair of thin cotton socks as another layer when it gets really cold. Only the cotton socks need washing. All my other winter clothing (and, come to think of it, all my summer clothing too!) is either Aldi or Lidl, and I just add layers to suit the chill factor. Long padded tights get a lining of unpadded tights if needed. My top layer is a recent winter jacket from Aldi, £15 I think, nice and warm and lots of roomy pockets behind. Once the temperature is freezing or a bit below I'll wear that with a Peter Storm running T-shirt (£17) and an ordinary Aldi fleece (about £8 a few years ago I think). If really cold my waterproof goes on top to lock in the warmth. An Aldi skull cap goes under the hemet and one of my wife's fleece home made neck warmers (£5, delivered UK  ) pulled up to my nose.TK Max ski gloves, with liners from a proper ski shop.
I expect my whole ensemble when I'm fully swathed for the ride is around the £100 mark, and £30 of that is the socks.

Sealkin's are not just for wet weather, they are great for keeping toes toasty.
