So there's an older chap who I often see on the train on my commute. 60-something, rides an old tourer with panniers, dynamo lights etc, obviously a well loved workhorse, and he's a friendly guy too - always keen to chat (if he is a little hard of hearing) and whatnot. And nothing wrong with that.
However it is often amusing how expressions that may seem so innocent to an older generation are so loaded with innuendo to those below. Now all the questions about my horn (I have an Airzound and he's keen on getting one) were too obvious to raise a snigger, however it was as the train was pulling into our mutual destination and people were crowding around us by the exit doors of the carriage that he decided to loudly state "Your helmet is magnificent!".
Fortunately for his sake he was facing away from the small crowd of people who were straining to contain their cringes and laughter.
