Def hardwood. Composite is even more (40 vs 60 per m2)Are you sure you mean hardwood, or treated softwood, e.g. pine. Hardwood will be very expensive.
I've used Pine quite a lot. A friend has an earlier composite (plastic) decking and that's warped as he didn't fit sufficient gaps (which you also do with wood).
We have composite decking at out caravan and it's creaky stuff.
This is why I'm thinking composite which maintains its original look.I deliver door to door. In common with any postal worker I hate decking, it's like Ice when it gets wet. And after a few years it looks pants.
