Composite vs hardwood decking

Are you sure you mean hardwood, or treated softwood, e.g. pine. Hardwood will be very expensive.

I've used Pine quite a lot. A friend has an earlier composite (plastic) decking and that's warped as he didn't fit sufficient gaps (which you also do with wood).

We have composite decking at out caravan and it's creaky stuff.

Def hardwood. Composite is even more (40 vs 60 per m2)

Never known anyone use hardwood decking, don't ever think I've seen it either

We have pine decking from Wickes.been laid fot 10 years and treated to a coat of decking preserver about 2 or 3 times .Still looks good .

We Give it a power wash once a year to stop it getting slippery and makes it look new again.No matter what material you use it will need cleaning.

I deliver door to door. In common with any postal worker I hate decking, it's like Ice when it gets wet. And after a few years it looks pants.
This is why I'm thinking composite which maintains its original look.
