I don't think we will ever forget that ride when you tried 4 times to fix that puncture and it effectively exploded each time you put it back on!!

Oh yes, that was a bit of an adventure wasn't it? That one was caused by dodgy rim tape that had a sharp edge on it and was slicing the tube.

I once had a puncture while riding my Honda CD175 from Brum up to Manchester. I pushed the bike all the way up a long hill to Keele services where I got out my spare inner tube. In those days motorway services had garages and the garage lad very kindly came out to help me. Before I could stop him he set about levering the tyre back onto the rim using a massive lorry tyre lever. Sure enough, the tyre wouldn't pump up. I ended up finding the hole in the original tube and patching it then replacing it myself. When I got home after my weekend nookie away in Manchester I found SEVEN punctures in my brand new inner tube thanks to the kindly garage bloke!

And if you are lacking in the sense of touch, get some cotton wool and rub it. It will snag on even the tinniest sharp!

Here's another one ... carry a pair of tweezers! I had a tiny piece of metal through a tyre the other day and I really struggled to get it out. In the end I had to use my teeth to do it. I'm going to buy some tweezers tomorrow.
