I'd hesitate to say "most", but ime, the rear carrier is used only rarely. Brompton luggage, for the most part, mounts to the carrier block.

FWIW, I have a C-Bag on my S-Type, and it works ok, although I think the official line is that only the S-Bag and its frame are ok.

Nice job. I have one question though. Why would anyone who has identified estate agents' board as the ideal material look to buy something, when there is a ready supply of estate agents' board ready to harvest all year round?
Because there are security cameras in the town in which I live and I didn't want to get caught stealing. If, however, a sign had fallen down I would have used it.

My Brompton is the 'S' model which comes without a carrier so I was unable to carry a bag on the bike.

After looking at the existing bags I have, I converted a Timbuk2 classic medium courier bags to fit on the bag frame holder.

You can read about how I modified it at:

I like it. I think all of the official Brompton luggage is incredibly ugly, so always interested in reading about others have adapted other bags to be carried on their Brompton.
